As an independent Educational Psychologist, my aim is to ensure that young people are set up to succeed in school from the start, by ensuring that they receive the right level and type of support. My view is that working closely with school staff, parents and other LA services is completely essential in order to achieve this. I believe very strongly that good psychology should move people forwards in their lives, with planning and intervention developed alongside the people who know the child best.
When I make recommendations, I always seek feedback about their appropriateness and impact. Where needed, I will offer to continue working with clients in order to ensure that support is properly embedded and evaluated.
Being passionate about psychology, my work is always evidence based and/or theory led. I have an extremely strong academic background beginning with the completion of a first degree at the University of Durham, Masters in Psychology (MPhil) at Cambridge University, followed by two doctorates; one research (Ph.D). and one applied (DEdPsy). I have also previously presented at national conferences and currently work as a guest lecturer at a number of top UK universities.
I have also published work in peer reviewed journals during my time in academia and regularly contribute to training of educational psychologists at doctoral level.
I pride myself on providing 100% independent and unbiased in my advice at all times.
